Reward Offered For Clues In Memorial Day Weekend Attack On West Hollywood Man

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A $10,000 reward is being offered for clues in the Memorial Day weekend attack on a West Hollywood man.

Kirk Doffing, 45, was brutally attacked in West Hollywood and has spent 22 days in a medically induced coma.

"He just got out of his coma. His eyes are open. His legs and arms are moving but his brain activity is not there," Destinie Geisinger, the victim's niece, said.

Deputies say Doffing, who's an accountant, was on his way home on May 24 when four men jumped him on San Vicente Boulevard near an alley just north of Santa Monica Boulevard.

He sustained a traumatic brain injury as a result.

The reward from the city of West Hollywood is being offered for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

"The brain damage that they did to him, especially on the back right side of his head, is extremely terrible," Geisinger said.

No one is currently in custody, and authorities say the security video from that night has yielded no results so far.

"I don't know what kind of people would do this to an innocent person. My uncle is the nicest, sweetest man in the entire world and justice is going to be served to them," she said.

Anyone with more information about this case was asked to contact Detective Berbiar at the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station at (310) 855-8850.
