Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (June 16)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Southland residents will feel a sudden urge for ice cream and all things cool as the heat wave carries on into Tuesday.

The marine layer will shield the coastal communities from the rising temperatures.

But inland areas will see the thermometer hover near the century mark for the next several days.

High pressure is drifting to the east and will target the Southwest through the beginning of next week and then move on to the four corner states.

This is the common position for monsoonal moisture, so next week may be a bit more humid.
