Washington Boulevard will remain closed in both directions between South Redondo Boulevard to South Cochran Avenue for the next several hours, authorities said.

Shortly after 6:30 a.m., a tow truck flipped the vehicle from its roof back onto its wheels.

A preliminary investigation revealed Cobarrubia lost control of her vehicle and struck a light pole, which caused the car to overturn.

"It appears the vehicle behind her traveled at a high rate of speed," explained LAPD Capt. Edward Pape. "This is a really heart-wrenching moment for anybody. The fact that the child is going to survive is a miracle."

According to police, she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

According to police, security footage revealed the crash was caused by a hit-and-run driver.

Authorities are searching for the drivers of two different vehicles that fled the scene.

Cobarrubia is survived by her three children aged 15, 5 and 2.
