Crews Investigate Dispute Involving Pepper Spray At Mondrian Hotel

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Tuesday are investigating a dispute that occurred between several guests at the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood.

Shortly after 5 a.m., crews were sent to the hotel, located in the 8400 block of Sunset Bouelvard, for report of an unknown substance, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

According to the hotel's front desk, crews are working to determine the cause of an unknown odor in the building.

A preliminary investigation revealed a guest sprayed pepper spray at someone during a possible dispute, which escalated into the hallways, according to the West Hollywood Sheriff's Department.

Firefighters were called to the scene to clear out the pepper spray, officials said.

One lane of traffic on Sunset Boulevard has been completely blocked off due to fire department activity.

At this time, no injuries or evacuations have been reported.

Authorities are investigating the relationship among those involved in the incident.
