Suspect Surrenders After Stand-Off With LAPD, SWAT Near Leimert Park

LEIMERT PARK (CBSLA.com) — A man surrendered to police Sunday following a nearly four-hour stand-off with LAPD and SWAT team members at a residence near Leimert Park.

Officers set up a perimeter around 7 a.m. surrounding the 3800 block of Arlington, where it was reported the suspect was armed and inside the residence with several other individuals, three of whom were children, police said.

SWAT teams were later dispatched to the location.

People connected to the situation report the suspect and his girlfriend began arguing on Saturday evening, and that the girlfriend left the house around 6 a.m. Sunday. At that point, the suspect reportedly refused to leave the residence.

The suspect eventually communicated to police he had no weapon and surrendered shortly before 11 a.m.

No injuries were reported.
