Triple Threat Headed From Newport Beach To MIT Campus

NEWPORT BEACH (CBSLA.com) — The Goul triplets are making headlines for not only getting accepted to the same college but because they all made it into an extremely competitive school.

This fall, the trio from Newport Beach are all headed to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The campus is home to some of the greatest minds in academia, but is perhaps best known for its math and science departments.

The siblings, who love math, physics and engineering, are graduating from Sage Hill High School this week.

They found out in December they had all been accepted the prestigious university.

Edward, Claire and Chris Goul all have worked hard to get to this point.

Chris Goul, the youngest of the three, is known as the family inventor.

"Claire is really motivated. She researches and she works really hard. And that's really impressive," said Edward Goul, the oldest sibling, who's described as the most spontaneous of the group.

They've already spent a summer interning at an MIT lab.

Their grandfather, one of their mentors, taught at MIT as a math professor.

Claire is researching cancer cells for a lab at UC Irvine.

The triplets were also accepted to UCLA.

They advise college-bound students hoping to get into top-tier schools to get into a research lab or find a job.
