Retired LAPD Detective Sentenced In Child Pornography Case
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A retired Los Angeles Police Department detective was sentenced Wednesday for having hundreds of images of child pornography.
According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Charles Daniel Henderson, 69, was placed on probation for five years and was instructed to perform 30 days of community service.
Henderson was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life and to undergo one year of sex-offender counseling.
A search warrant served at his home in Downey in October revealed more than 600 images of child or youth pornography, according to detectives.
Henderson was subsequently arrested and charged with two felony counts of distribution of child pornography and a felony count of possession of child pornography, according to the District Attorney's Office.
In April, he pleaded no contest to one count of possession of child pornography.
Henderson worked for the LAPD for about 20 years.
