Female Pedestrian Fatally Struck By 2 Cars In South LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities said a female pedestrian was struck by two cars in South Los Angeles and killed.

One of the two vehicle fled the scene, police said.

The accident happened about 8:10 p.m. in the 1600 block of West Florence Avenue, east of Western Avenue, a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department's South Traffic Division said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, the officer said.

Police did not say whether the first or second driver was the one who fled.

The woman's name was withheld until her next of kin could be notified.

Witnesses who believe they knew the woman said she was someone they knew from the area.

No vehicle description was given for the car that left the scene.
