Evacuations Ordered After Vehicle With Propane Tanks Crashes Into Long Beach Garage

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities ordered evacuations in a Long Beach neighborhood Saturday evening after it was reported a vehicle containing propane tanks crashed into a garage.

The crash was reported around 5:30 p.m., officials said.

The accident was reported in the 4600 block of East 14th Street, according to Long Beach Police Sgt. Megan Zabel.

It was unclear why the vehicle was ferrying propane tanks, police said but the bomb squad was called as a precaution.

The vehicle that crashed belonged at the residence where the garage was located, Zabel said.
