Teacher's Aide, 38, Accused Of Having Sexual Relationship With Student, 16
POMONA (CBSLA.com) — A female Claremont High School teacher's aide is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male student, according to authorities.
Brandy Leah Wilborn, 38, of Pomona, was charged Friday on three criminal counts.
Prosecutors say Wilborn had a sexual relationship with the teen between January and May.
An investigation was launched after authorities were alerted by school officials about the woman's alleged inappropriate contact with the student, according to the D.A.'s Office.
Wilborn was arrested May 8 by Claremont police and was released the same day after posting bond, officials said.
She is scheduled to be arraigned June 9 in a Pomona courtroom on one felony count each of unlawful sexual intercourse and oral copulation of a person under 18. She will also be arraigned on one misdemeanor count of child molesting.
She faces up to three years in state prison if convicted, according to the D.A.'s Office.
