Los Angeles Native Named Playboy's Playmate Of The Year

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —  The year isn't half over, but it's already been a banner year for one Los Angeles native.

Dani Mathers, a 28-year-old actress and model, was named Playboy's 2015 Playmate of the Year Thursday.

Mathers, who was the magazine's May 2014 Playmate of the Month, is  featured on the cover of the June issue and in a 10-page pictorial. (Lovely photos, trust us on this.)

"I've wanted this for so long," Mathers said. "Like with any accomplishment, you work hard and hope it will pay off, but I can't believe I did it."

As the 56th woman to be named Playmate of the Year, she receives $100,000 in prize money and a one-year lease on a 2015 Mini Cooper S convertible.

Mathers has appeared in films, including "Neighbors," and has had a  recurring role as coffee shop waitress Danica on CBS' "The Bold and the Beautiful" since 2005.

On her Twitter page she says she's "a L.A. native, animal lover & a not so bad cook." (This information, of course, should help her social life.)
