Former Seahawks Player Sentenced To 30 Days In County Jail For DUI

MANHATTAN BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A former Seattle Seahawks player was sentenced Friday to 30 days in county jail following his arrest for drunk driving in January.

Jerramy Ryan Stevens, 35, was also sentenced to four years of summary probation, ordered to enter a two-year outpatient alcohol program and complete a victim impact program, and pay penalties and fees, Los Angeles County District Attorney's officials said.

Stevens was allowed to complete the programs in the state of Washington, where he lives.

The former NFL player, who is married to soccer star Hope Solo, entered an open plea on April 23 to a misdemeanor count each of driving under the influence of alcohol within 10 years of another DUI offense and driving with a .08 percent blood alcohol content within 10 years of another DUI offense.

An open plea is one where there is no settlement agreement with prosecutors, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Stevens admitted that he refused a chemical test; his blood alcohol concentration was .15 percent or more; and he had a DUI conviction in Arizona in 2007, prosecutors said.

Stevens was pulled over on Jan. 19 by Manhattan Beach police officers who observed him driving a van with the lights off near Rosecrans and Redondo avenues, prosecutors said. The arresting officers obtained a search warrant to get a blood sample after he refused a chemical blood or breath test.
