Woman With No Feet Calls Winning A Treadmill 'Delicious Irony'
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Pasadena woman says she is appreciating the hilarity of winning a treadmill on national TV, despite the fact she has no feet and is in a wheelchair.
Video of Danielle Perez on "The Price is Right" went viral this week after it showed the woman who uses a wheelchair winning a treadmill.
"I mean, it's hilarious; it's so funny," Perez said. "I mean, I have no feet, I'm in a wheelchair – like, I can appreciate the delicious irony that is being gifted something I have absolutely no use for."
CBS, which is also the parent company of CBSLA.com, released a statement after the Tuesday broadcast, saying every member of the "Price is Right" studio audience has a chance to be selected to play and that prizes are determined in advance of the show and not decided based on the contestants.
Perez, who is a comedienne, says she got caught up in the chance to win on the long-running game show.
"You're just focused on winning cash and prizes; it doesn't matter what it is. You just wanna win. You just want it," she said.
Perez says she plans to keep the treadmill and hopes Drew Carey will autograph it.
