Caught On Camera: 5 Exotic Parrots Stolen From Backyard Of Long Beach Home

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Police sought the public's help Wednesday to identify two men who stole exotic birds from a home in Long Beach.

The incident occurred in the backyard of a home located on Harbor Avenue near Cummings Street on Monday afternoon, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Video surveillance revealed one man broke into the bird cages, and handed the parrots over a fence to a second suspect.

According to police, five expensive parrots -- two Crimson Rosellas, two Golden Mantle Rosellas, and one African Grey Parrot -- were stolen from the property.

This is the second theft that has occurred within two months, which is why surveillance cameras were installed on the property, the homeowner added.

During the first theft, two African Grey Parrots were stolen.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Long Beach Police Department at (562) 570-7260.
