Shots Fired During Brazen Jewelry Store Robbery In Rowland Heights

ROWLAND HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) —  A security fired shots during a bold jewelry store robbery in Rowland Heights Sunday, authorities said.

The store is located on South Fairway Drive near Colima Road.

CBS2's Brittney Hopper reported from the scene where she said a large police presence is hunting the robber and a large perimeter has been set up.

The suspect came into the high-end  store -- Hing Wa Lee Jewelers -- and stole a $25,000 Rolex, officials said.

A guard who works for the store shot at the suspect as he took off running.

Witnesses who didn't want to speak on camera told Hopper they heard 7-8 shots.

The witnesses said they saw the suspect bleeding.

Deputies believe the man got away in a silver car.

The suspect was described as a black male, about 6 feet tall and about 240 pounds.

No one inside the store was injured.
