20-Something Man In Grave Condition After Near Drowning In Long Beach
LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a 20-something man is in grave condition following a near drowning in Long Beach Saturday.
The man was pulled from the water -- near the Queen Mary -- after being submerged for about half hour, officials said.
The man was seen on the docks about 3 p.m., Long Beach firefighter Brian Fisk said.
He then got onto a locked AquaLink water taxi and appeared to walk off the boat's bow into the water, Fisk said.
Fire units were dispatched at 3:08 p.m. and rescue divers pulled the man out of the water about 3:50 p.m., according to Fisk.
"He was submerged for almost 30 minutes," Fisk said.
