'The Good Wife' Actress Julianna Margulies Receives Star On Walk Of Fame

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Actress Julianna Margulies, star of CBS' "The Good Wife", received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Friday.

Margulies is the recipient of the 2,550th star in honor of a career that includes 10 Emmy nominations for the actress, whose career was launched on the hit show "ER" in the mid-1990s.

CBS Corp. President and CEO Leslie Moonves and Michael J. Fox, who has a recurring role on "The Good Wife" as attorney Louis Canning, were also be on hand for the 11:30 a.m. ceremony in front of the Napoleon Perdis Cosmetics and Makeup Academy at 6621 Hollywood Boulevard.

Margulies thanked Moonves for his support of "The Good Wife" and reflected on how fleeting stardom can sometimes feel to even the most well-established performers.

"I have to get used to the idea that I'm there, I wanna come back and look at all the other names," she said. "It's a moment when you feel, 'Wow, I'm hopefully affecting some people out there'."

The ceremony comes nine days before the season finale of the critically acclaimed CBS drama, which as garnered four outstanding lead actress in a drama series Emmy nominations for Margulies for her portrayal of attorney Alicia Florrick. She won the award in 2011 and 2014.

Born June 8, 1966, in Spring Valley, New York, Margulies began her acting career at Sarah Lawrence College. She made her film debut portraying a prostitute in the 1991 Steven Segal-starring crime drama "Out for Justice".

But it was her turn as nurse Carol Hathaway in the 1994 pilot of the NBC medical drama "ER" in 1994 that Margulies caught her first big break: even though her character was initially supposed to die in the pilot, she tested so high the network decided her
character would live on and become a series regular.

Margulies appeared in four episodes of the HBO mob drama "The Sopranos" in the 2006-2007 season as real estate agent Julianna Skiff and starred in the 2008 short-lived Fox legal drama, "Canterbury's Law".
