Daughter Pleads For Help In Finding Mother, Whose Boyfriend Is Also Missing

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The family of a 60-year-old Los Angeles woman who has been missing for the past five weeks, and whose boyfriend is also missing, asked for the public's help Thursday in finding her.

Zakiyyah El A'min was last seen about 1 p.m. March 23 with her 48-year-old boyfriend, Kevin Walker Jones, who police say "has a history of domestic violence and assault."

"I just want her to come home," her daughter Aqueelah Dixon said tearfully.

El A'min and her boyfriend had an "on-again, off-again" relationship over a number of years, police said.

"We're concerned about her well-being…(and) we're hoping that we find her alive and well," LAPD robbery homicide Detective Salaam Abdul said.

El A'min was described as a black woman, 4 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was first reported missing after she did not show up for work on March 24-25, police said.

Jones was described as a black man, 6 feet tall, weighing about 200 pounds, with a shaved head and brown eyes. He may have fled to the Buffalo, New York, area, according to police, who also want to find an unidentified man and woman seen on security video removing items from Jones' apartment on March 28.

Anyone with information on the case can call Abdul or fellow Detective Joshua Byers, (213) 486-6890 or (877) LAPD-247 (5273-247).
