Did Customer Capture Costa Mesa Car Wash Owner Abusing His Employees On Cellphone Video?

COSTA MESA (CBSLA.com) —  The Facebook post  is clear -- even if the video that accompanies it is not.

It calls for a boycott of Angels Auto Spa in Costa Mesa -- in English and Spanish.

The post says, "Please stop supporting Angels Auto Spa Car Wash in Costa Mesa. Owner abuses his employees verbally & physically...Help spread the word, please !!!!"

Surat Singh told CBS2's Rachel Kim that he hasn't assaulted anyone. He said it was all a big misunderstanding.

"This is not true what they are doing, they are ruining my reputation," Singh said.

Singh is fired up and defending himself, Kim reported.

"How do you explain what we see, what was happening when that video was being shot?," she asks.

"We were wrangling with each other. I said Jose, are you okay? He said, I'm okay."

Singh told us he was just horsing around with his workers. He said Luis has worked for him for 30 years, they always horse around.

Kim asked Jose Luis, seen in the video in the blue shirt, what happened.

"I play. Me and my boss play," Luis said.

"You were playing around?," Kim asks.

Luis says, "Yeah."

Singh says the man who shot the video came into his business Tuesday morning and confronted him.

James Hinton says he was a witness to the confrontation.

"I heard racial accusations, Taliban, lot of cursing," said Hinton.

The video has people on Facebook posting comments like: "Let's put that owner out of business" and "Thanks for posting, just lost a customer."

"Totally wrong what they did, but time will tell," said Singh.

Costa Mesa Police were called to the scene. Since the employees declined to press charges, they told Kim they just took a report on the alleged assault and battery charge.

The Facebook post has more than 20,000 views.
