Suspect Arrested In Fatal Hollywood Stabbing

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —  The Los Angeles Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in the fatal stabbing of a man in a Hollywood parking lot Wednesday.

About 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers dispatched to the 1700 block of North Cherokee Avenue found a man down and a witness administering first aid.

The stabbing victim was declared dead at the scene.

Witnesses said several men were loudly argument before someone pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim, a 27-year-old black man.

Police were told the suspect, another man and a woman jumped into a Ford F150 and fled in a witness' vehicle.

The vehicle was later found blocks from the murder scene in the 6800 block of Camrose Drive.

Investigators with the West Bureau Homicide Division responded quickly and identified the suspect as Raymond Jackson, 29, of Pacoima.

Jackson and the other two people who fled were arrested Thursday. Jackson was booked on suspicion of murder and his bail was set at $1 million. The associates of the suspect were questioned and released.

The victim's name is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
