Reports: 'Everybody Loves Raymond' Child Actor Takes His Own Life

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —  Former child actor Sawyer Storm Sweeten has taken his own life.

Sweeten is best known for playing one of the twins on the popular CBS sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond" (1996-2005).

Sweeten's manager, Dino May, confirmed the suicide to Variety.

RadarOnLine first broke the story and said the actor visiting family in Texas shot himself on a front porch.

"Everybody Loves Raymond" was the family sitcom that made Ray Romano and Patricia Heaton stars. Sweeten was 16 months old when the sitcom started.

Sweeten acted opposite his real-life twin, Sullivan, as well as sister Madylin, who played their older sister. The Sweetens played Geoffrey, Michael and Ally Barone, respectively.

Variety said Sweeten's older sister reached out to fans on Facebook Thursday with a message.

Madylin wrote, "At this time, I would like to encourage everyone to reach out to the ones you love. Let them have no doubt of what they mean to you."

Sawyer Sweeten's other credits include the Disney Channel's "Even Stevens" and the 2002 movie "Frank McKlusky, C.I."

The Texas-born Sweeten would have turned 20 next month.
