Car Goes Over Ravine In Porter Ranch

PORTER RANCH (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters rescued a woman Tuesday morning who was trapped in a vehicle that crashed about 150 feet down an embankment in Porter Ranch, authorities said.

The crash occurred near the 18700 block of Sesnon Boulevard shortly after 8 a.m., according to LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey.

Rescuers managed to hike down and free the woman from the car, which was upside down in trees.

The condition of the victim wasn't immediately known, but she did suffer a "non-life-threatening injury", Humphrey said. The victim was being transported to a local hospital for treatment.

No one else was trapped in the vehicle, according to authorities.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
