Woman Fleeing Checkpoint Critically Injured In Crash
PLACENTIA (CBSLA.com) — A woman was critically injured early Saturday morning when she crashed her vehicle after fleeing a SUI checkpoint, Placentia police said.
The crash occurred at 1 a.m. after the 44-year-old woman sped away from the checkpoint in the 300 block of Orangethorpe Avenue, according to Lt. Eric Point.
Point told City News Service that the woman ran a red light before striking K-rails in a construction zone at Orangethorpe and Thames Street, causing the vehicle to overturn.
There were no other injuries and no further information was immediately available.
