Fans Lined Up For Star Wars Convention In OC Get Pizza From Director J.J. Abrams

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — Fans who gathered for the Star Wars Celebration convention in Orange County were given a piping hot surprise.

Director J.J. Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy bought pizza for the hundreds of fans waiting in line Wednesday night for the event that began at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Abrams and Kennedy, who both spoke at the Celebration Stage, were behind "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", which is slated to be released in December.

Actor Ian McDiarmid, who played Emperor Palpatine in the film saga, will also speak at 4 p.m. before 3-D screenings of the "The Phantom Menace" and "Attack of the Clones" at 6 p.m.
