Get Down Tonight! Costa Mesa Firefighters Rescue Family Of Ducks Stranded In Storm Drain

COSTA MESA (CBSLA.com) —  Costa Mesa firefighters on Saturday rescued a family of ducks that got stranded down a storm drain.

The firefighters were dispatched to the 3300 block of Hyland Avenue around 8 p.m., according to the Costa Mesa Fire Department.

It took about a half hour to free the ducks, authorities said.

The fire department tweeted pics of the rescue and the five ducks.

Authorities said it was unclear how the ducks got into the storm drain but were unable to find their way out.
