Did Road Rage Lead To Prius Piggybacking Another Car In Hollywood Crash?

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com)  —  A photo of a Prius piggybacking another vehicle on the 101 Freeway in Hollywood Saturday took social media by storm.

A witness to the accident said it was an incident of road rage but the CHP was unable to confirm the details.

The accident occurred on the Hollywood Boulevard off-ramp on the northbound side of the freeway.

No one was injured in the crash.

On Saturday evening, CBS2's Cristy Fajardo spoke to Matt Lazarus, the motorist who witnessed the accident and also captured the viral photo.

He said he was in the car behind the silver vehicle that ended up on the bottom of the Prius.

Lazarus believes the incident started with a mild fender bender. He says he has no doubt the driver of the Prius backed into the other car intentionally He says the people in the silver car ran from the vehicle like extras in an "Avengers" movie,

It all happened so fast, he was convinced the Prius was going to land on him.

Lazarus also told Fajardo the driver of the Prius attempted to drive off, but his car got stuck.

The off-ramp was closed for several hours while authorities investigated the circumstances of the crash.

No one was cited or arrested.
