Police: 26 Detained In Raids On Pasadena Drug Labs

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Two businesses in Pasadena were fronts for a hash-oil drug factory, according to police.

Officers raided the facility Monday in the 2500 block of Nina Street, just north of Colorado Boulevard.

Twenty-six people were detained in those raids, police said, but by 10 p.m., all but two of those individuals had been released.

Police have not released the names of the businesses or the detained individuals.

Police were tipped off about 2:30 p.m. Monday, saying that there were hash-oil labs operating at those locations.

Hash oil is a highly concentrated THC, the chemical responsible for most of the effects of marijuana, and it is typically smoked like marijuana.

"We summoned the response of LA Impact, which is an interagency drug task force, and their lab squad has responded to the location," Pasadena Lt. John Luna said. "We're currently investigating both businesses."

Police say the substances used to make hash oil can be very flammable, but fire officials say neighboring businesses are not at immediate risk
