Police Arrest Suspect In TGI Fridays Robbery After Restaurant Manager Thwarts Break-In

ONTARIO (CBSLA.com) — A 27-year-old Ontario man has been booked for robbery after police say he broke into a local TGI Fridays armed with a shotgun, only to be stopped by the restaurant's manager.

Officers were dispatched to the chain restaurant, located in the 3300 block of Centrelake Drive, shortly after 3:30 a.m. Friday following a call regarding a male suspect armed with a gun.

According to an Ontario Police Department spokesperson, the suspect was confronted by the restaurant's manager as he tried to enter a rear door.

The manager successfully subdued the suspect after a struggle, police said.

The suspect, identified as Herman Howard, was taken into custody when officers arrived.

Investigators say he was found to be armed with a shotgun and a replica handgun.

He was booked for robbery and transported to the West Valley Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
