Woman Fatally Shot In Torrance Bowling Center Parking Lot

TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) — A woman in her mid 20s died Saturday morning after she was shot in the parking lot of a bowling center on Hawthorne Boulevard, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. outside Gable House Bowl, in the 22500 block of Hawthorne Boulevard, several blocks south of Del Amo Fashion Center.

Torrance police Lt. David Petersen told City News Service that an officer stopped a vehicle with three suspects as they left the parking lot.

They were subsequently arrested for unrelated alleged offenses. Two of the men had outstanding arrest warrants.

Meanwhile, a vehicle driven by a friend of the victim, who was taking her to the hospital, was involved in a crash with another vehicle at Hawthorne Boulevard and Carson Street, Petersen said, with no one injured in that crash.

The victim underwent surgery at the hospital, however, she succumbed to her injuries. Her identity is being withheld pending family notification.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
