ICE Deports Canadian Man Wanted For Raping Disabled Child

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Canadian man accused of raping a disabled girl four decades ago in his native country was turned over to authorities after he was found living in San Dimas, officials said Wednesday.

Raymond Douglas Macleod, 72, was repatriated under escort by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers on a commercial flight from LAX on Tuesday, ICE reported.

He is facing trial in Canada for the 1974 rape of a 5-year-old girl with cerebral palsy, ICE reported.

Macleod was living under an assumed name at a San Dimas trailer park when he was arrested in October 2013 by ICE officers and Los Angeles, ICE reported.

His deportation follows 17 months of litigation by ICE to secure a final order of removal, according to federal officials.

"For the victim in this case, justice has been a long time coming, but she can take consolation in the fact that her alleged assailant is now being held accountable," said David Jennings, field office director for ICE
Enforcement and Removal Operations Los Angeles.
