$2M Moreno Valley Overpass On Indefinite Hold Due To Birds Nests

MORENO VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A $2 million Caltrans project along the 60 Freeway is on hold due to nesting migratory birds.

Part of the Theodore Street Overpass in Moreno Valley needs to be demolished after a big-rig accident back in January.

Workers have found two nests containing migratory birds in the bridge, however; one has eggs, the other, hatchlings.

Under federal law, it is illegal to move migratory bird nests.

The project was expected to be complete by early summer.

Officials have not given a new timetable.
