Police Search For Sexual Battery Suspect Wanted For Groping Women Near USC

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles and University of Southern California police Wednesday were searching for a sexual battery suspect who targeted women near the University Park campus.

At least four similar incidents have been reported to both the LAPD and campus police since Feb. 23 near sorority row, officials said.

Victims, two of whom were identified as USC students, say the suspect approached them from behind by walking or riding a bicycle, forcibly fondled them before whispering something and fleeing from the area.

LAPD released a crime alert with sketches of the suspect.

The man was described as either Hispanic or East Asian, between 16 and 21 years old with black short hair in a "spiked" style, about 5-feet 8-inches tall, weighing between 140-160 pounds and wearing dark clothing.

USC officials warn students to be aware of their surroundings and recommend they do not walk alone.

Anyone with information was asked to contact police immediately.
