Video: Motorcyclist Who Taunted Police With Daredevil Antics During Pursuit Gets Hauled Off

ONTARIO (CBSLA.com) — A motorcyclist who led police on a daring and oftentimes Hollywood-like chase was caught on video being taken into custody Wednesday night.

Phillip Jerry Resendez, 23, of Phoenix, Ariz., was wanted for reckless driving when the pursuit began just before 6:00 p.m. in Highland.

During the chase, he weaved and bobbed throughout traffic with speeds of up to 100 mph, drove his Honda on the wrong side of the road, performed tricks such as standing up on his seat and made seemingly obscene gestures at authorities.

Resendez finally pulled into a gas station in Ontario and surrendered to police.

"I just wanna say that I love my family and my two baby girls," he said as he was being led to a police cruiser. "and I'm sorry that I disappointed them in the middle of all of this."

Resendez is being held on $500,000 at the West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of failure to yield and driving on the wrong side of the road.
