Simply Wine Festival To Raise Money For Domestic Violence Charity Program In LA

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Trish Steele, Martha Peretz and Jeannette Carranza joined us on KCAL9 Wednesday to discuss the Simply Wine Festival that will help to raise money for a domestic violence charity program.

Simply Wine Festival Co-founders Peretz and Carranza shared the event will assist Safe Passage -- a non-profit charity that works with abused women and their children -- that is in need of funding to accommodate an increase of assistance calls.

According to Steele -- who founded Safe Passage in 2000 -- more than 15,000 cases of domestic violence are reported in Los Angeles County on average per year.

She added that Safe Passage has a 95 percent track record of helping survivors of domestic violence find a new home, stable job and a healthy lifestyle.

Over the course of 13 years, the charity program has provided assistance to more than 1,500 abused women and their children.

The festival will be held on Saturday at CBS Studio Center, located at 4024 Radford Avenue in Studio City.
