Father Of Missing Woman Makes Plea For Her Return

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — The father of a missing San Bernardino student made another plea Monday for her safe return.

Sahray Barber, 22, was reported missing last Monday after she failed to show up for school or work.

It has been an agonizing week for her father, Stephen Barber, who spoke at a news conference about his daughter.

"[It's] very surreal. I never thought I would be standing here, at least under these circumstances," he said, sharing a message he hopes will reach her.

"I know it's got to be rough wherever you're at and whatever is happening. But we love you. We can't wait to see you again," he said.

Sahray was last seen by her roommates at her apartment.

Police have been searching the remote areas in and around San Bernardino for the past week, and recently interviewed two persons of interest in her disappearance. Detectives have not confirmed their identities.

Sahray's laptop and cellphone were found in bushes on the grounds of her San Bernardino apartment complex.

Police have served a search warrant at the location and have also brought in her roommates for questioning.

Stephen says he doesn't know much about the man and the woman his daughter lives with, but hopes if she is being held hostage his message would reach her captor.

"Think about everyone's children. Whether you have children or not or have had children. You know somebody that has a child and how much they love their child," he said. "So, please just consider that and get Sahray back to us as soon as possible."

Police are urging the public in the San Bernardino area to report to them if they have seen anything usual in the past week.
