50 Instruments Stolen From Pasadena School Still Missing
PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — More than 50 instruments taken from Marshall Fundamental Secondary School in Pasadena are still missing Tuesday, although a few of the stolen items were recovered a week ago, authorities said.
About $15,000 worth of instruments and equipment were stolen on Feb. 28 from the campus, 990 N. Allen Ave., according to the Pasadena Unified School District and the sheriff's department.
Some of the stolen items were recovered on March 3, when deputies from the sheriff's Altadena Station found a man rummaging through the trunk of a Mercedes-Benz station wagon with the equipment inside, sheriff's spokeswoman Deputy Sara Rodriguez said.
The recovered items, which were returned to the school late Monday, included a television set, two flash drives, three walkie-talkie radios, a saxophone, a flute, and three guitar amplifiers, school district spokesman Adam Wolfson said.
"Unfortunately, the school is still short over 50 instruments from the heist," Wolfson said.
A GoFundMe page was set up to raise money to help cover the cost of the stolen instrument, raising more than $15,000 so far.
