Woman Drowns In Bathtub In Lake Forest, 6th Drowning Call In OC This Year

LAKE FOREST (CBSLA.com) — A woman in her 50s drowned in her bathtub this morning in Lake Forest, authorities said.

A friend found the woman in the tub about 10 a.m. and called paramedics to her home in the 23300 block of Ridge Route Drive, Orange County Fire Authority spokesman Capt. Steve Concialdi said.

The woman was later pronounced dead in the emergency room at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills, Concialdi said.

Monday's death was the sixth drowning call the county fire department has responded to so far this year, with five of them involving fatalities, Concialdi said. In three of the five cases, the victims were older than 50, he said.
