Have You Seen This Man? Long Beach Police Say He's Flashing Children

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Authorities have released a sketch of a man reportedly exposing himself to children in Long Beach as they walk to school.

There have been at least six reported incidents from Feb. 11 through March 4, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The man is believed to be targeting students walking between Coronado and Euclid avenues, from Seventh Street to 10th Street.

From 7:45 a.m. to 9 a.m., the suspect will park his car and sit in the front passenger seat with his pants down. Police say he sometimes call out to them so they'll walk closer.

During one incident near Euclid Avenue and Seventh Street, the man called to two children and tried to grab one of them as they walked by. She was able to run away.

The man has been described as white, 24 to 35 years old, with brown hair. He usually wears a black shirt and black Dickies-style pants.

Police also have distributed surveillance video of what they believe is the suspect's car. It appears to be a white passenger vehicle with tinted windows.

Authorities are scouring the area for the man but say they need the public's help locating him.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or his vehicle is urged to contact Long Beach police detective Adriana Jaurigui at (562) 570-7372.  Anyone who knows the man's immediate whereabouts should call 911. Anonymous tips can be made by calling (800) 222-TIPS (8477), texting TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or visiting www.lacrimestoppers.org.
