Girl, 7, Dies After Accidentally Falling Over Apartment Balcony In Harbor City

HARBOR CITY (CBSLA.com) — A 7-year-old girl died Tuesday after falling off an apartment balcony in Harbor City.

The incident was reported around 7 p.m. in the 1100 block of 252nd Street, Los Angeles police said.

Valeria Ramirez was playing with a friend when she accidentally fell over the ledge off the second story balcony.

Ramirez was transported to LAC+USC Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

The Department of Children and Family Services responded to the residence and found there was no neglect or child endangerment

Neighbors say there have been other near accidents involving the same balcony.
