Stretch Of PCH In Malibu Reopens Following Mudslide Closure

MALIBU (CBSLA.com) — Officials reopened a portion of the Pacific Coast Highway on Monday that was shut down due to a major mudslide near Mugu Rock.

Caltrans District 7 reported the opening shortly after 9:00 a.m. on Twitter:

According to California Highway Patrol officers, an early morning mudslide on Sunday left the basin inundated with mud and rocks due to heavy rainfall in the area.

The PCH was closed in both directions while authorities worked to clean up fallen rocks and debris in the roadway.
