Actor Ben Woolf Dies 4 Days After Being Clipped By Vehicle In Hollywood

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Actor Ben Woolf died at a hospital Monday, four days after being clipped by a vehicle in Hollywood.

Woolf was struck at Hollywood Boulevard and Gramercy Place about 9 p.m. Thursday, Los Angeles police spokesman Officer Drake Madison said.

Woolf, who was 4 feet 4 inches tall, was hit in the head by the mirror of the vehicle, Madison said. The motorist stopped at the scene and was not cited or arrested.

"We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from all over the world for our beloved Ben," according to a family statement posted on Woolf's Facebook page. "He touched so many hearts in his 34 years. His memory will live on within each of us and within his work."

Woolf, who reportedly died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, was most recently seen in "American Horror Story: Freak Show."
