Man Fatally Shot In Valinda
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Deputies investigated the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man in Valinda on Sunday.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, deputies were sent around 3:54 a.m. to a home located in 16000 block of Garret Court, for report of a shooting.
When they arrived, deputies pronounced an adult man dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
A preliminary investigation revealed neighbors called 911 after hearing a gun shot. Initial reports led authorities to believe the victim knew his shooter.
According to police, this was not a home invasion, and there is no threat to the community.
Neighbors explained to KCAL9's Joy Benedict that they heard the incident was a domestic shooting.
Detectives confirmed they are talking with the victim's wife, but said no one is under arrest or in custody at this time.
