Sheriff's Department Trying To Locate Couple Who Gave Missing Woman A Ride Home

COSTA MESA (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities hope the public can help them identify a couple they believe gave a missing woman a ride home five days ago.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department says Erica Melissa Alonso, 26, and her date made friends with a couple at the Sutra Lounge in the early morning of Feb. 15. The photo that accompanies this article was recorded that evening at the Sutra Lounge, authorities said.

Around 1:30 a.m,. Alonso and her Valentine's evening date (her 45-year-old boyfriend) were offered a ride to his home in the couple's red Scion FRS, near Culver Drive and Deerfield Avenue in Irvine.

About 3:45 a.m. Sunday, the couple left the residence, and 10 to 15 minutes later, Alonso also left the residence. The boyfriend reportedly told detectives the two had a fight and she stormed out.

Alonso and her vehicle have not been seen since.

Alonso is described at Latina, 5-foot-3, 110 pounds, with long brown hair and brown eyes. She drives a white 2014 Honda Civic EX with California license plate No. 7FSS563.

KCAL9's Stacey Butler spoke to Alonso's brother, Isaac, on Thursday evening.

"We are really, really worried," he said.

Alonso's mother was too distraught to talk on camera.

"She was supposed to report for work on Tuesday," Isaac said, "She was off on Monday. Tuesday was a big red flag."

There has been no activity on her credit cards or phone or social media accounts.

"She's always very good to text or email," said Isaac, "she keeps in contact with her sisters or with her family."

Her family has one prayer.

"Please, please, please. If you know anything at all, please come forward," Isaac said.

Anyone who has seen Alonso or who can identify the couple in the red Scion is asked to call the Orange County Sheriff's Department at (714) 647-7055.
