Smart Dresser App Takes Guesswork Out Of Picking An Outfit

ORANGE (CBSLA.com) — A group of Chapman University students has developed an app that solves the daily dilemma of what to wear.

Smart Dresser helps users piece together an outfit using images of clothing uploaded from their closet. It accounts for the person's style, the weather and even helps you avoid wearing an outfit you stepped out in too recently.

Several Chapman seniors developed the app, the first they'd created, as part of a challenge to help girls with autism pick out their own outfits.

"All the judges from Google, Blizzard and other tech companies really praised our app," one of the developers said.

The all-girls team won the People's Choice Award at the Autism App Jam at UC Irvine.

"We actually had quite a few people who came back and told us they could use it themselves, including parents, sons. This is for anyone who has trouble picking out an outfit in the morning," the team said.
