5 People Rescued From Hawthorne Apartment Fire

HAWTHORNE (CBSLA.com) — Five people were rescued from a burning apartment Wednesday in the South Bay.

The fire was reported around 12:15 a.m. at a complex in the 4000 block of W. 133rd Street, near the corner of Prairie Avenue, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

The fire was knocked down in less than 20 minutes.

One person suffered minor cuts and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
