Obama To Wrap Up Palm Springs Golf Getaway

RANCHO MIRAGE (CBSLA.com/AP) — President Barack Obama is squeezing in another round of golf before ending a long weekend with childhood friends in Southern California.

Obama's group returned to the Porcupine Creek golf course in Rancho Mirage on Monday, the same course where he played Sunday. The course is owned by Larry Ellison, the billionaire co-founder of the Oracle software company.

In between hitting the links, the President conducted some official business over the three-day visit, including the signing of a memorandum codifying rules for all federal agencies regarding drones. The memo is intended to ensure that drones are not deployed in a manner at odds with the First Amendment.

The visit marked his fourth to the Coachella Valley area in two years.

Obama spent Presidents Day weekend in Southern California without his wife and daughters.

He is scheduled to leave Palm Springs at about 2:30 p.m. to return to the White House.
