Former Dodger Pedro Guerrero Recovering In Hospital After Minor Bleeding In His Brain

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Former Los Angeles Dodgers star Pedro Guerrero was recovering in a hospital in his native Dominican Republic, the team reported Monday.

Guerrero was hospitalized around noon Sunday after losing mobility in his left arm, the Dodgers confirmed.

The 58-year-old was placed in ICU as a precautionary measure and was determined to have suffered minor bleeding in his brain, according to the Santo Domingo newspaper Diario Libre.

He has recovered mobility and was being evacuated by neurologists Monday. His wife Roxana Guerrero de Jimenez says he's in good spirits and has asked for food, the newspaper reported.

"We all send our best thoughts to Guerrero and his family," the Dodgers said.

Guerrero played in Los Angeles from 1978 until 1988 and was named co-MVP of the 1981 World Series.
