Driver Plows SUV Into Santa Ana Bar
SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A woman crashed her SUV into a bar on Saturday after she mistook the gas pedal for the brakes.
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, officers were sent just before 1:00 a.m. to Mama and Friends Bar, located in the 2600 block of West Edinger Avenue near Fairview, for report of a vehicle into building.
Once on scene, a preliminary investigation revealed the woman was driving westbound on West Edinger Avenue, when she lost control of her vehicle, and landed on the front deck of the bar.
KCAL9's Joy Benedict spoke with authorities who said patrons were inside at the time of the crash, but no one was injured.
Officers explained the woman was not cited in the crash, and the incident was not DUI-related.
Authorities said the building has been red-tagged for electrical issues, and needs a lot of cleanup and fixing before it will reopen.
