Fire Causes $1M In Damage To Pierce Brosnan's Malibu Home

MALIBU (CBSLA.com) — A fire caused more than $1 million in damage to actor Pierce Brosnan's Malibu home, officials said Thursday.

The fire was reported around 9:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 3100 block of Broad Beach Road, just west of Zuma Beach, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

About 50 firefighters responded to the scene and knocked down the fire in about 30 minutes.

No injuries were reported, and the fire was contained to the garage and one bedroom area of the home.

Brosnan, best known for playing James Bond, and his family were home at the time.

CBS2's Amy Johnson spoke with Brosnan, who seemed unsure if the family would make repairs to the home or not.

Fire officials reported that smoke detectors alerted the family, which allowed them to leave the house safely.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
