2 Killed In Fiery Car After Crashing Off Road In LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Crews were on the scene of a fiery car crash Sunday that killed two men in their 20s near Acton.

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, crews were sent around 4:00 a.m. to the area of Sierra Highway and Soledad Canyon Road, for report of a car on fire that fell off a roadway.

A preliminary investigation revealed a Chevy Camero traveled southbound on Sierra Highway, towards Soledad Canyon Road, when it veered off the roadway, and landed about 200 feet down an embankment.

The driver was ejected, and a passenger remained in the vehicle during the crash.

Firefighters pronounced both men dead at the scene. Investigators said they are believed to be between 20 and 25-years-old.

The investigation is ongoing, as detectives work to determine what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

The victim's identities are being withheld pending family notification.
